Line an 8-inch round or square pan with parchment paper. Set aside.
Combine the oil and sugars in a sauce pan over med-high heat. Stir until boiling. Boil for 1 minute while stirring. (This will caramelize and thicken.)
Combine the oats, cereal, and nuts in a large bowl.
Pour the liquid into the oat mixture and incorporate together well.
Gently spread mixture into pan, WITHOUT pressing down.
Add chocolate chips over the top and press down firmly all over so that chips get into the granola mixture.
For a quick cool, place the pan for 15 minutes in the freezer. Or you can cool them out on the counter and let them come to room temperature.
Cut into pieces and try your best to share them with someone else!
